Roofing

威卢克斯window to far down valley or is it

My roofer says my Velux window needs moving, as the previous owner's roofer placed it too close to the valley of the roof. It has leaked previously, but it has been patched up and is now watertight. I've had 3 quotes, and 2 of the roofers have advised that they can put a piece of rubber down the side of the window along the valley to stop any further damage. 1 of the quotes advised nothing can be done and we need to move the window.

Please can you advise if moving the window is a necessity or if the rubber seal will do a sufficient job.

Thank you

why is he saying its in the wrong place ? is it leaking , is it insecurely fitted,
what is the reason for his diagnoses ?
velux windows come with a flashing kit dependent on if its a slate tiled roof, concrete tiled or a pan tiled roof , this flashing goes around the window to seal if their is insufficient room to fit the flashing kit then anything else is a botch job which will at some point fail, by the sounds of this their is no room to fit the flashing kit on one side,
this side has a very high chance of failure.

if it was my house i would not fit a velux next to the valley there are stronger better places on the roof that would be more secure. if the valley ever leaked theres a good chance water can come in around the window .hope this helps kind regards jim better homes.
