Bricklaying

Breeze block inner wall badly cracked + loose blocks.

Hi.

Im stripping tiles and plaster from a 1930 semi with an 80s kitchen extension. Kitchen is tiled floor to ceiling.
I'm removing the tiles by hand with a bolster..not an sds.
The blockwork inner wall is in a shocking state!
Most are cracked. Nearly all are loose.
Outer walls are solid and crack free with no repointing or repairs visible.
Its not me breaking the blocks..some of plaster is blown and tiles come away without any effort.
What do I need to get done please?

Hello.

It’s a tricky one without seeing the extent of the damaged wall but if it’s a reasonable amount of blocks that are loose, I personally would take one of the highest loose blocks out and support the remainder of the blocks/wall above with acrows and strongboys, you may need a couple depending on how big the area is, I would then remove all loose/cracked blocks and rebuild the wall.

Hope this helps.

Acros and strong boys too support the weight above the wall and rebuild and remove any unusable blocks

你还没有说他们是什么样的块。他们are probably defective. So support the wall at the top, demolish the wall and rebuild it with a good quality load bearing block. This is assuming the foundations are sound.
